Founded in 1973 by Ed Picard as a family business, Auto Spa has been the small shop providing the best automotive service in Sparta, NJ, for more than 35 years. Auto Spa added Discount Rent-A-Car, the area’s only full-service rental vehicle provider, in the 1980s. Conveniently located at the same site, 85 Main Street, together these two businesses serve drivers in the southern Sussex and northern Morris counties area.

Today, we are not only Ed, but also mechanic, Carlos Garced, who has several years experience repairing cars together with his father. Carlos, who speaks Spanish as well as English, became a father himself recently in 2009. You may also see our part-time bookkeeper, Patty Steffen, in the office as well.

We enjoy English sports cars at the Auto Spa, but we love to work on any type of car, truck or motorcycle old or new. And while we’re working on your vehicle, you can rent one of ours. We service all our rental vehicles on site, so we know their service history and that they will keep you on the road reliably.
